Has TI stopped releasing Z-Stack for MSP5438?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: Z-STACK, CC2530, CC2520, CC2590, CC2538

Hi,

Has TI stopped releasing Z-Stack for MSP5438?

We have HW design with MSP430 + CC2520 +CC2590 and we run Z-Stack and application SW in MSP. We do not have CC2530 SOC which now seems to be the TI's only design reference for running Z-Stack if I got this right .

ZStack core 2.6.0.2 seems to have new features which I'm interested in but I cannot find it for MSP430 + CC2520 combination..

Have I misunderstood TI's offering ?

I do not even find the old release ZStack-EXP5438-2.5.1 which I still saw this summer.ZStack-EXP5438-2.5.1 is made for MSP430 + CC2520 combination..

Best Regards,

Ari

  • As I know, TI won't provide Z-Stack for MSP.

  • I found it... Z-Stack for MSP430 + CC2520 dual-chip solution seems to be packaged into "Z-Stack Energy" release nowadays.

    "Z-Stack Energy
Z-Stack Energy is TI's ZigBee Smart Energy (ZSE) compliant protocol stack for the CC2530 and CC2538 System-on-Chip and for the MSP430 + CC2520 dual-chip solution."

Latest Z-Stack Energy release is 1.1.0  (24-Sep-2013) which seems to include Z-Stack Core version 2.6.0.3.  I wonder if that includes the same "Child Aging" feature than I found in core version 2.6.0.2 in "Z-Stack Home 1.2.1" for CC2530? Can anyone confirm it child aging feature work with routers too? I mean, does router drop its child if it has not communicated through router for specified (KEEPALIVE_TIMEOUT_MAX) time?
