We encountered some problem in our pre-production testing, I describe the information as follows:
CC2530, Zstack 2.51a
1×ZC, many ZR, many ZED bind with ZC directly; 1 to 27 ZEDs (usually 5 or 6 ZEDs) bind with 1 ZR permanently. The network structure showed in the attached picture.
ZC: always power on
ZRs: ZRs are supplied with battery, ZRs work for 3 period every day, when ZRs are not in the working period, they enter PM3 power mode for energy saving. ZRs are waked up by RTC chip when the working period is coming.
ZEDs: ZEDs also work for 3 period every day, ZEDs will wake up 1 minutes later than their binding ZRs. In the working period ZEDs collect and transmit sensor data for some times (the interval is adjustable, now we set it as 5 minutes), after the sensor data collecting and transmitting, ZEDs enter PM3 power mode. ZEDs are waked up by RTC chip when they are in the PM3 power mode.
Some ZEDs could not rejoin the network after they run like the mode above for one or two days, we are sure that ZR and ZC is working when ZEDs could not rejoin the network, but some ZEDs could rejoin normally. We checked the Packet Sniffer log, we found the some ZEDs which could not rejoin network send "NWK Link Status (0x08)" (see attached packet sniffer log), if we restart these ZEDs, they will rejoin into the network. We patched some Zstack code according the described patch post by Ti Cetri in the thread http://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless_connectivity/f/158/t/208581.aspx?pi310978=1 and http://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless_connectivity/f/158/t/383622.aspx.
