We attempted using the new CC2538-CC2592 EM (Rev 2.0.1) with our present firmware and recently manufactured PCB.
With the older CC2538EM (Rev 1.2.0) in place, all the IO works.
To our horror, with the newer CC2538-CC2592 EM (Rev 2.0.1) in place, PC2, PC3, and PD2 did not work!
A brief investigation revealed that the new EM has resistors in series with these outputs. ( R111, R121, R271 ). These resistors were not present on their pads!
It is unfortunate that no notification was given in the packaging box of the CC2538-CC2592 EM (Rev 2.0.1).
The CC2538EM (Rev 1.2.0) does not have these resistors. Does anyone know why they were included into the design, on those particular pins only?
