Huge delay happens on end device when it receives message CC2538

Hi friends,

I am a student working on a project based on sample temperature sensor. The wireless communication between coordinator and end device has some problem: when I use zcl_SendReportCmd from coordinator to end device, it takes seconds for end device to receive the message, which is so strange. But when I use the same function from end device, coordinator gets the message immediately. I have kept the end device in PM0 mode.

What is the problem?

Since you send message from ZC to ZED, the message has to wait for pick up until ZED wake up from sleeping mode. So, the receiving time depends on your polling rate. The default polling rate is 1000 which means ZED would do polling per seconds. You can try to decrease it to 100 and it would be faster.

Thank you.
I changed DPOLL_RATE in f8wConfig.cfg, from 1000 to 100. However, the delay is still the same.

Can you specify how long the delay is? By the way, what is your SW when you test this?

Problem solved! After I modified the value DRFD_RCVC_ALWAYS_ON to TRUE, the delay disappears. Thank you.

The delay is about 2-3 seconds. The SW We use is IAR.

I know set DRFD_RCVC_ALWAYS_ON to TRUE would solve the problem. However, it would make your ZED receiver always on and much more power consuming.
