Hi,

Could anyone tell me where I can find documentation/example/tutorial for over the air upgrade on CC2538?

Do I need to dedicate a node to handle the upgrade process in the network (can I use it for something else when there is no ongoing update process?

Do I need to compile the Z-Stack with SBL extension (Router-SBL, coordinator SBL)?

You can find Z-Stack OTA Upgrade User's Guide.pdf in documents folder after you install Z-Stack Home 1.2.1.

Can I use OTA for Z-Stack Mesh as well? I don't see it on Z-Stack Mesh's documents?

Yes, it is no problem to use OTA for Z-Stack mesh.

Hi all,
I'm facing the same problem as Serdar Kose and I have many doubts about the use of OTA support on zstack mesh solution.

Even if I follow the steps given in the Z-Stack Home 1.2.1 solution file "Z-Stack OTA Upgrade User's Guide.pdf", I find many missing pieces that I'd like to clarify how to merge.
First of all, there is no OTA bootloader within Z-stack mesh solution, so I assume that project from Home solution should be used along with OTA converter, OTA server and dongle files...
On the other hand, zcl_ota.c, zcl_ota.h, ota_common.c, ota_common.h, ota_signature.c and ota_signature.h mentioned in the guide are different or inexistent in the mesh solution. Therefore, I assume that they must be ported to the mesh solution to make everything work propperly . Am I right?

Don't really understand your questions well. If you follow Z-Stack OTA Upgrade User's Guide.pdf, can you update FW to your CC253x? If yes, what is your problem?

Hi,
First of all thank you for your answer.
No I'm not able to update to my CC2538.
We have been developing our system over the z stack mesh solution. Now our client has required OTA update and we are considering the best strategy.
First of all we had a look to the mesh solution and we didn't find any help about the OTA support. We downloaded the home automation solution and there is where we found some help on how adding client functionality to an application.
Anyway, we don't find all the required source code within the mesh solution so we must do some merge, porting the required files to the mesh solution.

My assistance request comes in that sense, before starting the merging process, we would like to know whether that strategy is fine.

I see and my suggestion is that you make CC2538 Z-Stack home OTA example works. Study how it works and do porting to Z-Stack mesh accordingly.
