regarding power saving mode

The alternative is to configure RX pin as GPI and register ISR for it before ZED goes sleeping mode. When there is ISR coming, you can initialize UART for RX reading in it. In this way, the first bytes of UART RX might be lost when ZED is sleeping. You have to design a UART protocol that TX side always sends a wake up message then real data later.

sir the uart we are using now is in DMA mode , if we try the above said idea do we need to do any changes in the configuration and all ??

NO, I don't see you need to change any configuration. Just need to reinitialize UART when ZED is waken up from ISR.

how to configure ISR in stack sir .. we can enable in preprocessor . then any other steps ??

You can refer to how it configure P0.1 (SW_6) as GPI with interrupt in hal_key.c.

You can use the latest Z-Stack which uses uint32 in osal_start_timerEX().

is there any way to implement the same in the previous Z-stack ???

You can add an count in your periodic event which might be 60 seconds comes once and increase the count in it. When it counts to 60 which means an hour, you can do what you want and clear the count to start over.

I didnt understand that.. can you please elaborate . in case if i need to extend the time period in the uint16 myBatteryReportPeriod =10000; which gives 10 secs to 1 hour. where should i add the count..
