Hello,

I bought a beaglebone black and a CC2531EMK, I would like to ask if there are a z-stack home automation examples for CC2531, because all the examples which I have found are for CC2530 and CC2538.

To make HA example work on CC2531, you can go to IAR PRoject->Options->General Options->Target and change device type form CC2530F256 to CC2531F256 and have to revise some HAL related codes to make the code work on CC2531EMK properly.

Hi, Can you please point out the changes required in HAL to convert cc2530 examples to CC2531's in z-stack home. It seems, home automation stack doesn't come with USB library/firmware required for CC2531. Can we link the HAL files of other z-stacks supporting cc2531 examples in the HA examples?

There is only two button S1 and S2 on CC2531 USB dongle so you have to revise hal_key.c in Z-Stack Home to use these two buttons.

In order for the CC2531 USB device to be recognised on PC, the USB driver/firmware has to be loaded along with the example. But, firmware doesn't automatically come with CC2530 example.

I am confused by you. Do you mean to run ZNP on CC2531 USB dongle and use ZAP-ZNP architecture on PC to use Z-Stack Home example?

No. I'm referring to z-stack HA examples (e.g. SampleSwitch). I could change the HAL target to CC2530USB; It compiled without errors. BUt it is giving following errors during linking:

Error[e16]: Segment XDATA_I (size: 0x11f align: 0) is too long for segment definition. At least 0xb more bytes needed. The problem occurred while processing the segment placement command "-Z(XDATA)XDATA_Z,XDATA_I=_XDATA_START-_XDATA_END", where at the moment of placement the available memory ranges were "XDATA:1dec-1eff"

If you don't use USB function, you don't have to change HAL target, you can use original prooject files and revise for your HW accordingly.

I want to communicate with HA example from PC. Will cc2538 facilitate this if not cc2531?

I think CC2538 would be easier since there are existing examples of Z-Stack Home for CC2538.
