What cc2630 use for?

Hi,everyone,

The ti chip cc2630 have issued several months,but I don't know what the chip use for.

The chip have two cups,m3 and m0.At the beginning,I think can use for coordinator because it is powerful.But when I download the z-stack ha 1.2.2,I only find same applications about enddevice.Any application about coordinator can not be found.

Do the chip only use for enddevice?

If you use CC2630 as SOC mode, it can only act as ZED. This is because of its flash size which is only 128K. If you want to use CC2630 as ZC or ZR, you have to use ZAP+ZNP architecture.

I know ZNP architecture,it need another chip to complete a project.But I don't know ZAP and ZAP+ZNP architecture.

It is the ZNP architecture. ZAP means Zigbee application Processor which is another chip to complete a project.

It is much more power saving that CC253X. RX is only one-third power consumption compared with CC253x so it is very useful to ZED design.

Hi,
as YK mentioned, CC2630 is a chip which is best in class in the industry in terms of power consumption.
Rx and Tx power are well beyond 10 mA; CPU current consumption is about 61 uA/Mhz and the device can run up to 48 Mhz, maximizing power efficiency. The sensor controller engine implements a separate CPU core which operates at 8.1 uA/Mhz and can offset CPU wakeup performing operations like sensor data processing.
Overall, the chip has been designed to be used within products which want to maximize the battery life of a system, like ZigBee end devices.
Routers and coordinators are mains powered in ZigBee. We do recommend using CC253x family for those.

Hello shuming ye , I am still using Ti chip CC2630, but I buy a chip free of TI to design a board, so I don't know if I must load a operating system or anything for chip before use it.

You can download and install Z-Stack Home 1.2.2a to run it on your CC2630.

But how to can install Z-steack for CC2630 . what PIN that I must connect to?

I design by the schematic that TI support in datasheet, but I don't know how to load code to this module :(

You have to buy one otherwise you cannot program them.
