Hello,

I have a very simple problem. When one of the GPIO inputs goes high I want to unlock a lock that supports Zigbee.

Question is what is the cheapest way to get started -- which evaluation board is recommended. I do not want to get something with multiple boards as that is more expensive and more than what I need.

Just one board with GPIO pins, that supports Zigbee and can talk to a lock that supports Zigbee.

What do I need for development tools and where can I get code samples from.

I think CC2530DK (www.ti.com/.../cc2530dk) is most suitable for your study.

But its $400!! And the software is only evaluation version....

Yes, it is expensive. However, most of Z-Stack examples run on it. If you have limited budget, you may buy CC2531EMK and CC debugger and try to program it by yourself.

Another cheap solution can be the CC2650 SensorTag $29.00 (www.ti.com/.../index.html ) + the Debugger DevPack $15.00 (store.ti.com/cc-devpack-debug.aspx ).
You can get code samples by installing Z-Stack Home ( http://www.ti.com/tool/z-stack ).
