new in zigbee and need a description on z-stack and IAR for CC2530

I bought some CC2530s a few days ago and as I said I'm new in zigbee and I want to develop a network with these ICs. I read some about zigbee, z-stack and IAR. but still there is a big question for me:

what is Z-stack exactly and what is a relation between Z-stack and IAR?

can anyone explain this briefly to me?

Z-Stack is the firmware that is needed if you want to run Zigbee application on CC2530. IAR is the compiler and IDE tool to compile or debug/trace examples in Z-Stack.

If you install Z-Stack Home 1.2.2 for example, you can use IAR to open eww project file such as SampleSwitch.eww in C:\Texas Instruments\Z-Stack Home 1.2.2.42930\Projects\zstack\HomeAutomation\SampleSwitch\CC2530DB. You can refer to Z-Stack Home Sample Application User's Guide.pdf in Z-Stack document folder.

I understand from your explanation that z-stack is something like wondows for computer! am I true? or is it like a library?
can you explain more about z-stack?

Yes, it is something like windows for computer. You can refer to documents in Z-Stack Home document folder.
