How to reduce ED rejoin time?

ED rejoin to NWK it will cost a lot of time in beacon request and need two times to send the NWK rejoin request. how to reduce these time.

You can change "#define NUM_DISC_ATTEMPTS 2" in ZDApp.h to "#define NUM_DISC_ATTEMPTS 0"

Thanks for your reply, i had already changed NUM_DISC_ATTEMPTS to 0 and i find reduce two times Superframe specification but also need two times beacon request after i check the psd file. BTW, how to reduce the Beacon polling time? thx

From switching_2.psd, I see it works. For beacon request period, you can change -DBEACON_REQUEST_DELAY=100 in f8wconfig.cfg.

Hi YiKai,

Actually switching_2.psd result base on -DBEACON_REQUEST_DELAY=10 and DBEACON_REQ_DELAY_MASK = 0x00FF.

I change -DBEACON_REQUEST_DELAY=0 and DBEACON_REQ_DELAY_MASK = 0x0000. but just have a little improve. and i expect to reduce the time between Orphan notification and Beacon request.

1. There is no parameter to make you change the duration between orphan notification and beacon request.
2. You can trace ZDApp.c and ZDObject.c to go through the sequence "data request -> Orphan notification -> Beacon request-> rejoin request"

do you have any idea for the reducing connection time for the low power consuming, I used TIMAC, do you have any idea for used zstack to reduce the connection time?

If you use Z-Stack, you can revise NUM_DISC_ATTEMPTS to 0 to decrease number of beacon requests before sending association request.
