Tx power change in z stack

I have a zigbee application in which the end device need to change the Tx power in run time. I have used an api ZMacSetTransmitPower() for this purpose. But it takes much time for this process. So the overall process becomes time consuming. I need a fast switching in Tx power, Is it possible ? Kindly reply

There is no other way to change TX power. What do you mean it takes much time?

It takes 5-8 seconds sometimes. I want a fast switching. Is it possible ?
