I was wondering developing some application and needed to get the LQI and RSSI. But before that, I wanted to ask the essential difference between LQI and RSSI. From what I know, RSSI is the raw signal strength received from the 'packet' (on the receiver side), and that could be either from the transmitter or 'noise'. In the case of the LQI, it differs depending on the manufacturers / chips. For example, some adheres to the IEEE 802.15.4 specification, and others get the LQI value as a combination of LQI and "other" values (such as gain steps...).
How is TI calculating LQI, and please correct me if I was wrong in my explanation (probably I am).
