Hello,

Can I use the open source "Code Composer Studio" to develop my home automation applications for CC2530 or CC2538? I know that I have to use IAR, but the license of IAR is expensive. So, is there any free tool to use for my home automation applications?

The alternative is to use ZAP+ZNP architecture but it would need a extra MCU to act as ZAP.

Hello YiKai,

Sorry,I didn't understand you answer. Does the ZigBee Stack for HA precompiled and ready to use, I have just to load it in CC2530 or CC2538 without making any changement with IAR? Do you mean This? So, the role of MCU is to communicate with the ZNP via SPI or UART.

If this is the case, I have two more questions for you:
-If I load the ZigBee Stack of HA in CC2530 or CC2538 what's the default serial communication enabled in it: SPI or UART?
- Can I develop the Firmware of MSP430 MCU families with Code Coposer, beause I think that I should use IAR also for MSP430?

Yes, there are prebuiid image for CC2530 and CC2538 ZNP. You don't have to use IAR to build it. The CC2530 prebuild ZNP image uses UART interface. CC2538 prebuild images have both SPI and UART interface. You can find those prebuild images under \Projects\zstack\ZAP\ZNP-HexFiles of Z-Stack folder. It should be no problem to develop ZAP on MSP430 with CCS.
