You should use AF_DataRequest.

Can we use ztool to send the same command ? what should be the other values such as dest. addr., cluster, transID and other params?

Yes, you can use AF_DATA_REQUEST MT command. You can read Z-Stack Monitor and Test API.pdf for parameters detail.

The sample switch application forms a network on channel 11 but if we change the channel from f8wConfig.cfg then it does not change and gives MAC_CHANNEL_ACCESS_FAILURE continuously. Could you please a proper way to modify the channel? Once the network is formed can we change the channel? If yes please provide steps to do that. And if possible what sequence of commands needs to sent using Ztool to form a network, change channel and panid to allow end devices to join.

It's correct to change channel in f8wconfig.cfg. I never see it would have MAC_CHANNEL_ACCESS_FAILURE continuously. Where and how do you see this MAC_CHANNEL_ACCESS_FAILURE?

I have added debug prints at the mac level. In the function txComplete() i have added the printf with status value and this gives the 0xE1 i.e. MAC_CHANNEL_ACCESS_FAILURE. This function gets called from macTxChannelBusyCallback() which is the inturn comes from themacMcuRfIsr.
What may cause this mac access failure?

I think this is caused by collision detection. It says "clear channel assement failed, follow through with CSMA algorithm" in macTxChannelBusyCallback.
