I have downloaded the simplelink timac_1_05_02_43299 files for the cc2650DK and have found that the CCS project import function will not work because the package is only defined for the IAR workbench environment. I also imported the BLE projects for the cc2650DK and found that a CCS package was included in that download. The BLE software is working fine through CCS.

Is there a simplelink timac package available for CCS? Alternatively, is there a documented procedure (step-by-step description) that would allow me to define a new project within CCS and then add the timac source files from the IAR package?

No, TIMAC can only be built by IAR.

Is there any schedule or has a timeframe been established for the conversion of TIMAC from IAR to CC? Is this conversion even being contemplated?

Thank you for your answer Mr. Chen. However, it would be most useful for the answer to the question of the development plans for the TIMAC support under Code Composer to be provided by a TI employee that is aware of any such plan and has the authority to commit the company.

Again, Mr. Chen, thank you for your input, but I would appreciate getting an answer to this question directly from TI. You must understand that product decisions such as we are struggling with can hardly be made on the basis of 3rd party information. Do you know how, other than through this forum, I might address the question to the appropriate TI product manager? An email perhaps?

Hi Michel,
Did you get any inputs form the TI. Me too facing the same issue. I have already purchased CCS. And i am now not willing again to invest in IAR workbench. If you found any solutions, please help me out.

Our project with the IEEE 802.15.4 TIMAC code and the TI cc2650 has been one of the most frustrating experiences I have had in my 40 years of software development. TI are a great hardware company but are a bit unclear on the concept of software. TI themselves never actually responded to this thread (as far as I know), so we were obliged to look elsewhere. We spent a month struggling with Contiki and concluded that, in spite of the cost, our most efficient solution was to acquire the IAR workbench. In the 6 weeks since we acquired the IAR product, we have been able to integrate our cc2650-based sensor with our network bridge and the data management system. So, if you are developing a commercial product or are working within a commercial environment, I would suggest you either move to BLE or purchase the IAR Workbench; nothing else makes business sense.
