About star topology network

Hi, I am a zigbee newbie and trying to figure out the feasibility of a star topology network.

The network consists of one zigbee gateway and 24 zigbee client devices at maximum, all of which are deployed in a 100mX100m  open field. The gateway will be deployed in one corder of the square and client devices are equipped on small and fast moving vehicles. The gateway will periodically broadcast data down at 10~50Kbps to clients and the client will send data to the gateway at 20~100Kbps.

My questions are:

1. How fast can the up and broadcast link transfer data for one-24 or one-12 topology network?

2. Which TI devices can we use?

Any suggestions are well welcome. Thanks in advance.

    I won't suggest you to use broadcast which might cause broadcast storm in your case. You can try to use group casting. By the way, the data rate you need is higher than it is expected in Zigbee protocol so you might not be able to make it.

    You already specify your data rate, don't you? The gateway will periodically broadcast data down at 10~50Kbps to clients and the client will send data to the gateway at 20~100Kbps.

    We could work out a solution to cut down the data rate from the application level according to limitations imposed by network. So we need to know the maximum data rates before doing that. 

    The primary goal for our case is to exchange data over 300m with minimum hardware setup complexity. Would you please given some estimations about the data rates for one-24 star or 25 net topology?

    According to my experiences, the data rate can be about 16K bps at most if you use one coordinator to 24 or 25 end devices. If you use one coordinator to 24 or 25 Zigbee routers, the data rate can be up to about 50 kbps.
