Problem when enabling power_saving macro.

Can you specify your Z-Stack version and your HW?

zstack home automation 1.2 (sample witch). Hardware is the customized board having cc2530+power amplifier.

I have test SampleSwitch on CC2530DK and never see similar issue with POWER_SAVING defined. Which PA do you use with you CC2530 custom board?

i am using cc2592 power amplifier.
i am giving 4.2 v from power supply, parallely i am check current how much it is taking.
when it is working it is taking 10ma current.
when i enabled POWER_SAVING, after association it is taking 40ma and getting stuck there only. again when i do reset, it starts sending beacons.

Do you define HAL_PA_LNA_CC2592 in your SampleSwitch?

it was working good until i enable the POWER_SAVING.

According to my experiences, enable POWER_SAVING won't cause this problem. Have you tried to use SmartRF Studio to test how far of your CC2530-CC2592 design can do TX/RX ?

That issue has been solved now.
by mistakenly i have enabled
ZIGBEE_FREQ_AGILITY,
ZIGBEEPRO,

i just removed this and it is working now.

I am facing new problem that,
I dont want to use the UART_tx, UART_RX pins
for these pins i have connected USB_in pin as a interrupt to controller.
whenever i inserted USB for charging the battery. USB_pin wil get high and this USB_IN pin is connected to the UART_RX pin that is P1_7,
i have put the LED on in its ISR.
but I am not able to disable the UART completely, bcz of the UART, LED is blinking continously.
i have not defined hal_UART in the compiler option.

can u help me to use these pins for my requirements.

Do you define ZTOOL_P1 in compile option? If yes, remove it and test again.

Can you set breakpoints in UART related APIs and see if they are called?

The problem is not with the UART. i have checked it.
but unfortunately the problem is with POWER_SAVING macro in compiler option.
When i enabled this macro, I have put LED ON in ISR, whenever interrupt comes this ISR has been calling and bcz of POWER_SAVING mode this LED is not getting stable ON, it is continuously blinking.

I have two LED's connected to P0.0 and P0.6, On both LED this case is there.
Whenever we put in POWER_SAVING mode, does controller will do anything with the ports(like disabling).

If We are able to overcome this then it is ok "or" do we have any method that i am using USB_in as a interrupt to controller whenever this interrupt comes it should come out of the POWER_SAVING mode and when another interrupt comes again it goes back to POWER_SAVING mode.

can we do that?

i am facing one more issue, i have a battery in this End device.
i made P0.0 as adc input. and connected the battery to this through vtg divider ckt.

I made the configuration, but every time i am getting the same result.
i am using the same hal_adc.c file api's.

i want to use the single conversion,
i want to set the refernece voltage to inernal refernece voltage that is 1.15v

In my board i am having cc2530+PA_2592 , this power amplifier is taking 8ma to 10ma, I want to control this power amplifier like enabling and disabling.
i am having PA_EN pin to powr amplifier from cc2530, if i make this pin as a GPIO and then pass one or zero to it .. this will control the power amplifier.

Please suggest me on this. i am facing current consumption issue.

You cannot turn on/off PA dynamically. When your HW is CC2530 with CC2592, you have to enable PA_EN pin when you do TX.

I am not doing anything with PA_EN pin, all the 3 pins of the PA will be controlled by the stack...
so when i am transmitting a command i wil make PA_EN pin enable and after sending i wil make it disable..

If you use the same 3 pins of PA_EN, LNA_EN, and HGM in www.ti.com.cn/.../swra465a.pdf , you only have to define HAL_PA_LNA_CC2592 in Z-Stack and Z-Stack will control CC2592 for you.

My board is consuming 0.8ma continously.
I have enabled POWER_SAVING in compilation macro.
From the current consumption i am thinking like it is not going into the power modes at all.

how can i confirm that it is going into the power modes.

In my case, one task is continously running,
osal_start_timerEx( zclSampleSw_TaskID, HEART_BEAT_EVENT,60000 );

this event is calling every 10min.

can u suggest me on reducing this current consumption...

0.8 mA sounds more like there is current leakage on IO pins. I suggest you to check HW design.

If you don't use it, you can config it to tristate.

You should not use a blocking delay in this event. It might block others.

Again i came back with some problem.
Above method i have implemented and it is working. thank you for that.

Now i am facing new problem that is, whenever my end device goes out of network and sends some command to ZO it wil not reach to ZO, and when it comes to in_network, my end device is not able to send command instead it is sending beacon for joining. at this time i need to make reset so that it wil rejoin again with the previous ZO.

i want, whenver it goes out of network it should not search for other network. it should be stick with same network.

can i get suggest on this please.?

If you enable NV_RESTORE in your compile option, device should rejoin back to the same network.

Yes Sir, i have enabled the NV_RESTORE. and it is rejoining to same network when i press the reset. but when my end device goes out of network and come into network again it is generating beacons to join network. when i make reset in the end device then it is rejoining the network.
untill it gets rejoin, i am not able to send commands to ZO.

I am using Zstack 1.2 home automation. sample switch application.

In that there was NWK_AUTO_POLL macro was enabled. i removed this from compiler option. now when i come back to network it is automatically rejoining with the network. this is fine.
but when it goes out of network i dont want it searches for the network, at that time if it sends any command , it should send command just in the air.

If you don't remove NWK_AUTO_POLL, do you still see this problem?

I don't use Z-Stack 1.2.0 now. Please test this with Z-Stack Home 1.2.2a and see if the problem is still there.
