Hello All,

I want to build an application so that I can send the data to the internet ,for that purpose I am using Z-stack example HA sampleswitch and want to interface w5500 ethernet driver IC using SPI interfacing.For achieving this task is there any need to change in network layer .I mean is there any connection between the two.

I suspect CC2530 is fast enough to handle both Zigbee and Ethernet protocol. I would suggest you to use another MCU to handle Ethernet protocol.

Hello YK sir,
I am using temperature sensor in the Zigbee HA sample switch,if I want to put an alarm on a particular temp say at 50 degrees,and then want this temp to the application layer zcl_sampleSwitch,How should I do it?

If I want to measure the distance between a coordinator and router/End device, then I have to measure the RSSI value,In Z-stack ,how that thing is achieved and how to know what is RSSI value.

You can use API ZDP_MgmtLqiReq to get LQI value and convert it to RSSI.

Hello Sir,

The MAC ID of a device is written on the information page [2 KB ],so I have declared an array,

__no_init const unsigned short __xdata flashDataAddr[PAGE_SIZE] @ 0x780C; // 0x780C fetching mac address direction from Info Page.

I have used an function in which I have transferred the MAC ID into this array SYSMAC

Now when I use this function to display the MAC ID of a device I get junk values on the terminal,Since I am not using LCD so I have not used the already defined function.I really want help on this.

If you uses Z-Stack, why don't you use Z-Stack API to get MAC address?

You can use API NLME_GetExtAddr to get device's IEEE address.

At this point of time in the programming of CC2530 in Z-stack ,I need to use while loop ,but referring to the forum ,I found that ,if you use while loop ,it will block the system,So in this case ,what should be the alternative ?

If you use while loop ,yes, it will block the system. You should create a periodic event to do what you want to do regularly.

1. In you application init function, call "osal_start_timerEx( zclXXX_TaskID, PERIODIC_EVT, 1000 );" to start PERIODIC_EVT 1000 ms later.

2. Add the following code in zclXXX_event_loop to process your application job regularly

Hello Sir,
My task is to monitor the flags in a function which actually polls in every 100 ms .If the flags gets 1 then only the condition in while loop will get true.If not then the process continues polling .This whole operation has to be done in zclSamplexx.c

Then you can change "osal_start_timerEx( zclXXX_TaskID, PERIODIC_EVT, 1000 );" to "osal_start_timerEx( zclXXX_TaskID, PERIODIC_EVT, 100 );"

Hello YK sir,

I have a doubt regarding using of variables define in header files with extern keyword.

I want to use a variable suppose Light value that is to be used in workspace Hal_driver.c and zcl_samplexx.c .

You can use a global variable to keep this light value in zcl_samplexx.c and extern it in Hal_driver.c to use it.

zclSampleCIE_ProcessEndDeviceBindReq(zdoIncomingMsg_t *inMsg)
is it similar to the API already declared in zclSampleSw_ProcessEndDeviceBindReq(zdoIncomingMsg_t *inmsg);

Hello Sir,

I am facing problem regarding battery life ,I have 5 sensors incorporated on a board ,using CC2530 MCU,every sensor is running on interrupt ,the thing is this device is battery powered,but battery is draining in 2 hrs?

Yes I did,RF is not getting to idle state...thats y its consuming more battery.

If you define POWER_SAVING, RF would go to idle state automatically. What's the polling rate of your device?

I haven`t measured it...but as it was the feature of z-stack it runs the battery powered devices upto 1 year,battery lasted for 2 months,so I put up a question why?
rest I think I should review my code again.

Can you specify what HW you use? I suggest you to use Power Analyzer to check the power consumption first.

It always return 0 in Z-Stack Home 1.2.2a so I don't think you can use it.

If you need to know time elapsed, you can use osal_GetSystemClock to get clock and compute it by yourself.

RF is consuming around TX (33.2mA) and RX(24.3mA).I think this is too much.Can you help me.

Those TX/RX power consumptions seem close to CC2530 spec. The TX/RX only works for a short period so what is the problem you see?

Sir I am using battery of 1000 mAH ,its draining in 2 hrs, sensor consumption is about 70uA ,RF value are TX(33.2mA) and RX(24.3mA),I dont know is it a firmware mistake or hardware ...?

its going above 100mA ....around 133mA
