Data Request Packet in CC2538 Zigbee

Hi TI,

Just a quick question regarding the "Data Request" being sent by the end node to coordinator. I've just finished the firmware upgrade via OTA. What's the purpose of this "Data Request"? Does this affect network traffic when I have hundreds of end nodes? Please refer to the screenshot below:

Data request means end device is doing polling. It's used by end device to receive data from its parent node. Zigbee HA profile suggests end device to polling every 60 seconds.

If a message needs to be send to end device, end device won't be able to receive it without polling.

The end device doesn't sleep in our application. Will disabling the polling result to an end device not receiving a message from its parent?

Yes, disable polling on a non-sleep end device still makes it not receiving a message from its parent.

One last question, where do I set the poll rate?

You can set it in f8wconfig.cfg.
