Switch a router to coordinator mode

Hi,

at first, I would like to know if it is possible to switch a router into coordinator mode? I'm working on CC2530DK.

I need to do this, because I'd like to form an ZigBee network automatically. So, my idea is to build several completely same routers, and turn them ON one by one.

After the first router discovers that there is no coordinator in its vicinity, it reconfigures himself as a coordinator. Other router will discover the coordinator, and form a network with them.

So, is it possible? Can you give me a tip how to do that?

Thanks for your help in advance!

  • Hello Beastrider:

I would like to know how can I do that. I have the same problem, but in the reverse mode. I have a device in a default coordinator mode, and when I turn on the device, it will search for networks on the neighborhood,if some network was founded he will join the network  as a router device.

Basically I found a good solution to do that but I don't no how can I do that. Basically, consist in create a bootloader application that load the coordinator mode as default and if detect networks in the neighborhood, it change the mode for rooter mode and joins one of the networks founded. The problem is, the space available in the RAM, is not sufficient to allocate the two firmware modes.

Some one know how we can solve this problem, if it is possible, of course?

    Best Regards
