Hi,

I have CC2530DK product now. and I am trying to connect CC2530EM to my PC.

The problem is that my PC cannot detect SmartRF05EB and there is no SmartRF05EB list on the device manager Cebal driver.

Also I cannot find SmartRF05EB on SmartRF Studio and Flash Programmer

But when I connect CC-Debugger to my PC, I can see the CC-Debugger on the device manager.

I reinstalled Cebal driver and SmartRF Studio. and I also checked Cebal driver version. (v2.50.01 cebal2). but no works.

How can I resolve this problem..?

Windows 8.1 64bit is my OS.

Do you check if the power is OK when you connect SmartRF05 to desktop?

SmartRF05EB is powered by battery and I set power source header to right pin(P11 - 1,2pin).
Bettery mode SmartRF05EB works well I think,, I did PER test as well.
Then I connected SmartRF05EB to desktop. but there is no detection on desktop.

If you switch it to use USB power, does it work?

Yes. As I remember It worked.
now I am confused about minor one. When the board is set to USB mode while USB cable is connected to a desktop, should I detach the batteries from the board?

Yes, you can remove battery when using USB power.

thank you for the quick reply.
I removed the batteries when I tested it on usb mode. now both way (battery and USB mode) are failed to be detected from the desktop. please guide me what can I try more if you have any ideas,,

Hi,

I was stupid. I found that ONE of my SmartRF05EB boards is OK on the both power mode. (usb/battery)

I could see the SmartRF05EB on the Device Manager list.

But the problem is still remained with the "Undetectable" SmartRF05EB. this SmartRF05EB LCD is not working.

So I tried to reprogram the "Undetectable" SmartRF05EB and followed section 5.2.3.2 of the SmartRF Flash Programmer User Manual.

When I use CC-Debugger as a programmer, I couldn't find CC-Debugger list on the "EB bootloader" tab of Fla

sh programmer and CC-Debugger LED is RED.

So I changed a programmer to "Working" SmartRF05EB not CC-Debugger, then connected "Working" SmartRF05EB (P3 SoC Debug) with "Undetectable" SmartRF05EB.(P2 USB Debug)

But still I cannot see SmartRF05EB list on the "EB bootloader" tab.

I attached my pictures.

1. "Undetectable" SmartRF05EB. LCD is not working.

2. "Working" SmartRF05EB(P3 SoC Debug) and "Undetectable" SmartRF05EB(P2 USB Debug) connected 10 Pin cable.

If you don't connect CC Debugger to your SmartRF05 and turn on the power with USB power, do you see anything on LCD?

No, LCD is not working.

I also tried to follow section 10.1 of SmartRF05EB Evaluation Board User's Guide. (10.1 Forced boot recovery mode)

But when the SmartRF05EB board turned on, the LED D6 didn't blink.

I attached the picture of setting P18 pin17&19 to make sure.

It looks like that your SmartRF05 HW is broken. Sometimes, it is just HW problem on power circuit of SmartRF05. You can try to find some HW expert to see if it can be fixed.

Well..It's so sad because I received the box just this week.
Anyway I am gonna buy other one soon.
By the way, Is there any way to figure out the broken SmartRF05EB's ID number? 4 digits, used on Flash programmer.

If you buy it recently, you can try to ask for replacement from www.ti.com/.../faq-returns-and-refunds.page
