I am using the C2530 Packet Sniffer to look at data on my zigbee network (www.ti.com/.../packet-sniffer). The device is a CC2530 running ZNP, connected to z-tool. It appears that a switch device is sending broadcast messages to the network when a button is pressed, however I do not receive anything on z-tool. Here is a snap shot of the packet data.

Is there a way to receive these messages and pass them up to z-tool? Also, it appears the switch is sending "Data request" to address of the coordinator "0x0000", however I don't get any notification on z-tool.

Here is a log from the TI SmartRF Packet Sniffer application showing the PAN coordinator 0x1234 active. I power up a switch device and it re-connects to the PAN. I then press a button and you can see the switch at address 0xBED5 sending data to the coordinator at 0x0000. I do not see any information come in on Z-Tool for this button press. The log appears not to show the button press. I will attach a new log. What are the "Data requests" sent by the switch device?

Data requests means end device does polling to its parent node.

I spoke with the manufacturer of sensors we are using and they said their sensors will send out a request when they first associate with a PAN. I do not see this information come across the UART link.

I have attached sniffer logs, broadcast data appears to be transferred starting with packet # 60. Can someone explain what is going on between the coordinator and the device (0xC685) with this transfer? How can I receive this data via the ZNP firmware?

Here is a different sensor, which joins the network multiple times, sends out broadcast data and then leaves the network. How can I receive this using ZNP firmware?

It's strange that those two sensors, door sensor and smoke alarm sensor, send leave request after they join network a while. You should check with manufacture why those sensors would send leave request.

Those device send match request with cluster ID 0x0500 so your coordinator has to respond with ZDO_MATCH_DESC_RSP.

I do not see a ZDO_MATCH_DESC_REQ message come in on z-tool. Do I have to subscribe to this message?

I think you only need to add ZCL_CLUSTER_ID_SS_IAS_ZONE into your out cluster list of simple descriptor on ZC.

I added cluster 0x0500 to my out cluster and the devices stay connected to the PAN. I then configure the Binary Input cluster (0x000F) on end point 2 to report changes. Using the sniffer I can see that these messages are broadcasted out, however I don't see them on Z-tool. I have a binding with cluster 0x000F and the reporting command seems to have worked:

It looked like packets 24,26, 33,35 were generated when I triggered the switch.

Those four packets are network address request. Do you do that in your application?

Those are sent out by the sensor, not the coordinator

Then, I suggest you to check with manufacturer why the sensor sends network address requests.
