Hi All,

I am newbie to the field of embedded systems. I have a project that requires me to work with CC2630.

My question is:

How to make to CC2630 Communicate with each other using Zigbee with the minimum cost?

1 - Can I work with the LaunchPAD only.

2 - What IDEs can I use ?

1. CC2650 doesn't have enough Flash to run Zigbee coordinator in SOC mode so you have to use ZAP-ZNP architecture to run coordinator, in which you can use ZTool on PC as ZAP and CC2650 as ZNP. For running Zigbee end device on LAUNCHXL-CC2650, you can refer to processors.wiki.ti.com/.../CC2650_LaunchPad_User's_Guide_for_ZigBee
2. You have to use IAR EWARM as IDE.

How can I get around the flash memory issue?

Can I use another device as the coordinator?

The alternative is to use CC2538 or CC2530 as Zigbee coordinator and router.

I have read that LanuchPAD has 1 MB of Flash memory on it. Can I use this memory with the mounted CC2650 on that board to run CC2650 ZigBee in coordinator mode. ?

Hi Abdo,

The 1MB external flash on the CC2650 Launchpad cannot be used this way. Code size is limited by the 128kb internal flash.
