CC2538: Z-Stack 3.0 Light Link and Home Automation compatibility

Part Number: CC2538
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2530, Z-STACK

Team,

A customer is interested in using Z-Stack 3.0 in their product together with CC2530/8. Looking into the SDK, we have the following questions:

- the SampleLight and SampleSwitch examples both support HA and ZLL, is this correct?

- if yes, can these examples be used as reference on how to make HA and ZLL compatible?

Thanks.

  • Zigbee HA and ZLL are converged in Zigbee 3.0 specification. There's no Zigbee HA or ZLL anymore in Z-Stack 3.0 accordingly. There are some information in Z-Stack 3.0!document which you can read them.
  • With Z3.0, the Home Automation and Light Link profiles have been deprecated. That said, ZLL-like functionality was introduced into the ZigBee 3.0 specification, called Touchlink. It is an optional part of the BDB commissioning process and can be enabled by using the flags BDB_TL_TARGET and BDB_TL_INITIATOR, as well as using the BDB_COMMISSIONING_TOUCHLINK BDB commissioning mode.
