CC2538EMK: CC2538 as ZNP (UART Communication)

1. Yes. But original ZNP doesn't support this so you have to do it by yourself.
2. Yes, you can use ZTool on PC to connect with CC2538 ZNP.

Chen What do you mean by original ZNP doesn't support ?do i need to write my own ZNP code or can i edit my application code in the ZNP source code?

One More Technical doubt is when the data is received OTA via UART from the ROUTER to COORDINATOR the data will be in Received Buffer Right?how many Bytes will be the data i mean whether it will be only data which is been sent or there will be a format(more than data) which will be received?

1. You can edit code for your application in ZNP source code.
2. There's no buffer in ZTOOL implementation. ZTOOL would output received data directly to its console.

my 2nd question what I meant was UART buffer in CC2538(ROUTER). first it will fall in UART received buffer and then passed on to the ZTOOL console correct?and How many Bytes will be the data any idea ?
one UART of CC2538 i can Interface with my HOST Microcontroller and other UART is used for OTA right?

I myself have been confused.

I will explain the actual scenario of our application.

1)First of all i need to configure one of the CC2538 as COORDINATOR and One more as ROUTER.How to do it? and what commands should i use?

2)Now after configuring them i will send data On the Air from ROUTER to COORDINATOR using ZTOOL or Host MC .Where it will be received in CC2538 (COORDINATOR)?

Hello Chen,

We started testing CC2538 Evaluation Boards.

I programmed the CC2538EM using XDS100v3 debugger connecting cJTAG pins through IAR workbench IDE.

In IAR workbench i pressed GO button to run the code and connected the UART Tx and Rx pins to my USB serial converter to PC and  then opened the ZTOOL but it didn't find the device.

Any Particular Setting need to be done.?

I added ZTOOLP1 to symbols preprocessor.

I compiled the ZNP source code in C:\Texas Instruments\Z-Stack 3.0.0\Projects\zstack\ZNP\CC2538\ZNP.eww

CC2538 ZNP project in Z-Stack 3.0 enable HAL_UART_USB by default. You can connect USB cable to USB socket on CC2538EMK and move jumper  from EM power to USB power (red line in the picture). THe CC2538EMK should enumerate a virtual COM and you can connect it with Ztool.

Try to use 38400 as baudrate.

Its Working.
I checked Autoscan box in settings .it detected in 9600 baudrate.

Now i will send Commands to set it as one as COORDINATOR and other one as ROUTER and communicate on AIR.

If you use a fresh new ZNP, you don't have to write BV Id: 0x0003 and restart it. Just bypass those two steps.

Hello Chen The Commands are setting Right .

CORDINATOR is been set and its showing the Device Info as DEV_ZB_COORD (0x9)

But the ROUTER is not Showing the info its showing as  DEV_HOLD (0x0)

The destination address when i give 64bit address of the End device its showing Property value is not valid pop up message and remaining parameters are ?

Yes I referred it .Information with respect to bytes are there is no example.

In the Doc it says the Destination address is short address which can be seen in ZTOOL.

But how to find out the Dst End point,Source End point , Cluster ID and TransID of the devices?
