Compiler/CC2530: how to convert hex file read by SmartRF™ Flash Programmer to C /C++ code?

Dear all.

I want to write a program to cc2530 embedded on DRF1605h. but since I do not want to change the part of the code related to meshing and networking properties, It is proper for me to read the code by Flash Programmer and convert the hex file to the C/C++ code, write or change my desired part of the code and then again program the cc2530.

But I don't know how to convert the hex file to the source C code?

Hi,

What are you attempting to do with this device? If it comes pre-configured with ZNP firmware, you do not need to change the code to use it with a secondary application processor. If you are attempting to write your own code for it, you will need to start with C code and recompile it with IAR, you cannot convert a compiled hex file back into C code.

Never heard that you can covert a hex file back to source code. If you had write the application for CC2530. you should have source code, don't you? why do you have to do reverse engineering?

Thank you for answer. Sorry for my silly question again. I want the DRF1605 to do some counting process on the input pulses and save them in an external eeprom. but I also want to use the point to point and transparent data transmission and because I am new to programming with IAR, I tended to reverse engineering and convert back the HEX file to the source code. Now can you please help me on how to recognize that the device hade been pre-configured with ZNP firmware?
Also it would be greatly appreciated if you give any other help.
