CC2650STK: About SBL write flash time

Hi,

We decide to use serial bootloader Interface to update firmware for switching the zigbee and BLE protocol.

But I saw the document(www.ti.com/.../swra466a.pdf ) page 10.

From Figure 5. Successful Execution of the CC2538 Example Application, the write flash time should need 67643ms.

But I calculate the write flash time with maximum size 512kB of CC2538, it should only spend about 18s.


What's the reason for write flash time that long?

I never think about this part but how do you know it should only spend about 18s?

I refer to the document (www.ti.com/.../swra466a.pdf ) page 18 figure 10.
I calculate The longest time= (13Byte+(252Byte+5Byte)*512KB/252Byte)/(230400/8)=18s
This is my understand, I don't know it's right or wrong.

Why do you divide it with (230400/8)?

So, I need to add the flash write time, right?

I can't find the flash write time in CC2538.

I refer to the spec of CC2560, the flash write time is 8us/4bytes
if 512kB size, it should spend 1.024s.
Seems not long.
Do you have any idea?

You still need to estimate what backdoor boot loader does and cost in time. However, I don't know details of backdoor boot loader implementation so I cannot comment on this.
