Hi,

I would like to optimize my Zigbee system. my question is when I use zstack_home_1_02_02a_44539, is it possible to change end point to router in home automation project. And how.

Hi,

To use the CC2650 as a router or a coordinator, you must use it in a ZAP-ZNP architecture. The CC2650 can only operate as an end device node by itself.

Hi Jason,

I read something in TI E2E Community.

it looks like this person could use zstack home 1.02.02a to build a router device. I think ZAP-ZNP architecture is too complicated. Is there any other method to build a router in CC2650 Launchpad

Unfortunately, with the out-of-box sample applications, there is no way to support a ZigBee router with the CC2650 in SoC mode, only with ZAP-ZNP, this is due limited amount of flash memory on this device.

Do you mean I should run ZAP-ZNP mode to run CC2650 as a router. if so, I have another question what should I do to change to ZAP-ZNP mode.

For ZAP-ZNP, you can use the ZNP project provided with Z-Stack Home 1.2.2a for the CC2630/50, there should be a router build configuration. For the ZAP you can something like Z-Tool (provided with Z-Stack) or you can use the ZNP Host Framework, available here.

The easiest way is to use ZTool act as ZAP and CC2650 as ZNP to test it on your PC.

Thanks for your reply. I tried to use ztool to act as ZAP following http://sunmaysky.blogspot.ca/2015/10/setup-zigbee-ha-coordinator-with-ti.html . But in ztool, it always shows can not find devices.

Do you use correct COM port and set baudrate to 115200 and handshake to NONE?
