CC2538: Binding between various endpoints and 1 coordinator

Using cc2538 as a coordinator, sample switch and cc2530 as an endpoint, sample light.

I did EZMode binding. Is there any way to do binding and store binding table on coordinator without EZmode, if I dont know the MAC address and network address of the end points??

Hi,

Can you give an example of what you intend to do or try to explain it more? The whole point of the binding table is to map a source address and endpoint to a destination address and endpoint, I am not sure how you intend to use it without a destination address.

If you don't know MAC address, you can use ZDP_EndDeviceBindReq.

I have 4 endpoints as a samplelight. I want to control all 4 using the 1 coordinator.

DstAddr - The destination address.
LocalCoordinator – Known 16 bit network address of the device’s parent coordinator.
ep – the application’s endpoint/interface.
ProfileID – the application’s profile ID as reference for the Cluster IDs.
NumInClusters – number of cluster IDs in the input cluster list.
InClusterList – array of input cluster IDs (each 1 byte).
NumOutClusters – number of cluster IDs in the output cluster list.
OutClusterList – array of output cluster IDs (each 1 byte).

SecuritySuite - Type of security wanted on the message.

These are the parameters it is asking. What are the these?

You can have a look at zclSampleLight_HandleKeys(). When disable EZ-Mode, it would use ZDP_EndDeviceBindReq.

I have gone through it. For this, I need to disable Hold_Auto_start compiler option.
But, on both, sample light and sample switch, it is sending ZDP_EndDeviceBindReq(). I think coordinator should send this bind request and endpoint should respond it. So, at the end device side, should be there endpointbind response api??, not req api?

End device binding are sent to coordinator and coordinator would help to connect everything. Device side doesn't have to do extra steps.

Enddevice is sending the bind request. Now how to read this bind request on coordinator? WHat steps I need to follow to complete binding? Because, on sample applocation, on disabling the ezmode, my application is not working properly. Means, the commeand on/off is sent from the coordinator but led on enddevice is not getting on/off.

Mine is not working. I have written these in static void zclSampleSw_ProcessZDOMsgs( zdoIncomingMsg_t *pMsg )

if ( pMsg->clusterID == End_Device_Bind_req ){
ZDEndDeviceBind_t bindReq;
ZDO_ParseEndDeviceBindReq( pMsg, &bindReq );

}

Dont know whether binding is occuring or not. I set the breakpoint but program is not stopping inside this funtion.

I suggest you to use Ubiqua Protocol Analyzer to check what happens over the air.

Where do you put "if ( pMsg->clusterID == End_Device_Bind_req ){..."? In coordinator side or device side?

End device binding is handled in coordinator by Z-Stack automatically and you don't have to add any code like that.

Youn mean if I need to bind 2 endpoints with the coordinator, all I need to just power on? On sample applications provided by TI, it is not working because on/off command is sent but led is not getting toggled.
Can you elaborate?

When you send ZDP_EndDeviceBindReq, you have to assign endpoint. Different endpoint would be saved in different binding table. It's better to use Ubiqua Protocol Analyzer to check over the air message to see if end device binding is success.

I have disabled the EZMode from compiler option to do binding with end device bind req. But I am unable to set break point inside this-At sample light side
At sample light side-

Try to set optimize level to low and set breakpoint to test again.
