CC2530: Problem with using different Flash IC

Hi,

In my custom design I am using Flash chip "W25X20CLSNIG". But with this IC OTA firmware upgrade is not happening. If the IC is replaced with "M25PE20-VMN6TP TR" which is used in TI's reference design(SmartRF05EB), OTA is working fine.

I have found that Pin configuration is same in both IC's. Is there any other functionality changes in the newer IC(W25X20CLSNIG)?

Or else any other configuration changes required for using the IC(W25X20CLSNIG).

Try to check if device ID of Flash chip causes the issue.

Device Id is same for both devices. So some other issue is present.

I can only suggest you to trace into your code to debug it.

Trying to READ/WRITE the data from the Flash.

HAL_OTA_CRC_ADDR % HAL_FLASH_PAGE_SIZE,

&dev_id, sizeof(dev_id));

if(dev_id== 0xEF)

{

HalLedBlink ( HAL_LED_2, 10, 50, 2000 );

}

This code is written on zmain.c and checking it in debug mode, device id is detected as 0x13. But it should be 0xEFh.

Do you use scope or SPI protocol analyzer to check if the SPI command is sent correctly?
