Hello,

I am trying to read data from multiple CC2650 BLE devices on a central device (windows PC). Currently, I am trying to implement a system in which all CC2650 devices continuously advertise data and the central device reads all this data. However, these sensors will be located in an indoor area of size ~ 200m x 200m. I am skeptical of the range of these BLE devices. Is there any option to implement such a system over BLE or should I shift to 6lowpan protocol?

If you need longer range of BLE, I suggest you to use CC2640R2 which is BLE5 ready for long range Mode.

Thanks Chen! But I also need the devices to be battery operated. Currently, I cannot see any ti devices that are based on CC2640R2 that can be operated with battery (similar to sensortag).
Also, is 100-150m realistic range for BLE5 indoors?

You can refer to longrange_peripheral example for CC2640R2 at github.com/.../ble5apps . It can be battery operated. As for 150 meters indoor, it depends on how many blocking walls and what's the material of wall. You have to test to know.

thanks! do you mean the launchpad can be battery operated? or can i use these long range apps on the sensorstag which is based on CC2650?
