CC2538: Binding tablemax size

It's depends on how many memory is left after your application and stack usage. The best way is to set a value you want to build the source code to see if it works. There is no need to increase MAX_BINDING_CLUSTER_IDS when you increase NWK_MAX_BINDING_ENTRIES.

I got this in nwkglobals.c-

But when I do NWK_MAX_BINDING_ENTRIES =40, it shows memory related error.

It means memory is used up. You have to decrease the number.

How much memory does 1 entry take?

I don't count this and I suppose you can check this from map file by yourself.

NWK_MAX_BINDING_ENTRIES =40 which means 22*40 =880bytes =0x370 bytes

I am getting this error-
unable to allocate space for sections/blocks with a total estimated minimum size of 0x3f04 bytes (max align 0x4) in <[0x20004000-0x20007fff]> (total uncommitted space =0x3f00 which is 16128 bytes.

Now if I do 0x3f00 divided by 0x16 ( which is 22 bytes, size of 1 binding table), I am getting 0x2dd which means NWK_MAX_BINDING_ENTRIES can be 0x2dd.
Then why the error is occuring?
Can you verify it?

I build default SampleLight example in ZED configuration and increase NWK_MAX_BINDING_ENTRIES to 40. It builds successfully.

Can you increase NWK_MAX_BINDING_ENTRIES upto the level where you will get the same error so that I can compare your memory with mine. And also, please paste the error.

If it builds successfully, IAR will generate map file and the information is in it.

What should I understand with the values of these memories

readonly code memory is the flash size used by code and readonly data memory is the flash size used by data. readwrite data memory is the RAM used.

But RAM size is 32kB. Then why this error shows at 16k? Cant we use whole 32k ram?

I am not familiar with how Z-Stack defines this part.

I have already searched this and I think it's retention ram.

It's retention sram. Stack and heap ( read/write items) are placed in retention sram region. Check .icf file. You will get all information there.
