Hi everyone, I recently purchased the CC2538 and would like to use it with the USB connection without SmartRF06. Anyone can give me some indication?

You can probably check the Z-stack 3.0 ZNP application it uses the USB.

Hi Mario,

The CC2538EM does not have an on-board debugger, so you will still need a SmartRF06 (or another external debugger) if you wish to program/debug this device.

I have to use it as a node for the 6lbr. Do I Need the Power of the SmartRF06?

Not sure I understand your question. You can use the CC2538EM as a standalone device and you can power it through the USB connector, but the EM board does not have a USB debugger like the SmartRF06 does, so in order to program/debug the device you would need a SmartRF06. After programming it, you can remove it from the SmartRF06 and use the USB connector to power it.

You can give power from usb socket on CC2538EM. There is USB example in cc2538 foundation firmware. Download and install it, you will find examples under C:\Texas Instruments\cc2538_foundation_firmware_1_0_1_0\usblib

I can not download it, however I want to use the cc2538 with its own power without SmartRF

What do you mean you cannot download it, the download link is and it works for me. You can connect USB cable to USB socket on CC2538EMK and move jumper from EM power to USB power (red line in the picture).
