CC2630: Flash Programming of custom board

Part Number: CC2630
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2640, , CC2650

I have designed a custom board for the CC2630, I am trying to program it using the cc2640 launchpad debugger. I could successfully erase the flash and download a program using smart RF  programmer 2, however, I couldn't get any change on the gpio pins, the MCU is constantly drawing 5 to 6mA even though it's programmed to go directly into sleep. Is it necessary to program the chip using the standalone debugger or could this be a hardware/software problem? I have checked the voltage levels at all the Vdd pins and they show similar levels to the launchpad.

Thanks
