Hello,

I am using Z-Stack 3.0.1 for Home Automation Profile. Here I am doing Permit Join form Z-Stack Linux Gateway which has Z-Stack 3.0.1 ZNP, so when I am trying to add a new device to the network through mesh network I am unable to add it to the network.

I a tried Sniffing the packets, here we can see that the device (that need to join the network) can associate to the respective device which is on the network, but it can not confirm the join in the network.

I have attached the sniffer file, please can anyone help me out here.

Here my Coordinator IEEE Address is 00:12:4B:00:09:DD:6A:97 and the Device that is on the network (through which other device is trying to join the network) is 00:12:4B:00:09:E2:FD:04 and the device that is trying to get in the network is 00:12:4b:00:09:e2:91:6e

Try to set BDB_DEFAULT_TC_REQUIRE_KEY_EXCHANGE to FALSE on coordinator which will allow Zigbee HA devices to stay.

Thanks for the reply.

But my device does not at all get on the network, it just associates with one of the device that is on the network. You can check that in the sniffer file.

Also by setting BDB_DEFAULT_TC_REQUIRE_KEY_EXCHANGE to FALSE, will it affect my security?

No, it won't affect security. Try to change it and test again.

Can you please tell me what does BDB_DEFAULT_TC_REQUIRE_KEY_EXCHANGE actually does? Is there any document I can read for this?

bdb_default_tc_require_key_exchange is for mandate the TCLK exchange procedure in which the default key is updated to an unique key. If your joining ED is not Z3.0 it will not perform this procedure and will be kicked by the coordinator if bdb_default_tc_require_key_exchange is set to TRUE, if bdb_default_tc_require_key_exchange is set to FALSE, then the device will be allowed to stay.
