Dear Sir

i have CC2530ZDK with 1)SmartRF05EB,2)CC2530EM,3) CC debugger.

i have read CC2530 ZigBee Development Kit User’s Guide and SmartRF05 Evaluation Board user guide but i don't get information how to Debugging CC2530EM board with CC2530ZDK by CC debugger.

Can anyone share step by step how to Debugging CC2530EM.

i have need help at below topic:

1) where to connect CC debugger in smartRF05 EB like- USB debug or Ex Soc Debug

2) by which software i can program CC2530EM or bugging.

3)which procedure for debugging CC2530EM with Smartrf05EB.

i have attached my board for my connection please verify it.

SmartRF05 can debug CC2530EM. Why do you connect CC Debugger to SmartRF05?

Please refer to the user guide for the SmartRF05 board.

As YK says, the CC debugger is not needed and should not be used when you have the SmartRF05 available.

i have already Read this article Before post but still not issue solved.

i have installed smart RF Studio 7 in my PC already.and when i connect SmartRF05EB to the computer with a USB cable on Connector P12. but it not detect by computer in Device manager. so i am not able to connect SmartRF05EB to computer.so i have connect CC debugger.

i may mistake or i don't know basic step for connect SmartRF05EB to computer.i have also try with different USB Slot with my laptop internal and external USB 2.0 HUB.i have also check my USB calbe with my printer it is working fine.

when i attach CC debugger with my PC it is seen in Device Manager but SmartRF05EB is not detect with USB cable.

Can we connect by video call or skype call for basic step checking or please describe step by step how to run board with hardware detail of board.i use SmartRF05EB Rev 1.8.1

When you connect USB cable between PC and SmartRF05, does your PC even pop unknown device?

NO,PC have not detect any USB device.

no, i have tried in 3 PC but not detect (in all 3 PC any TI software not installed).
may any hardware issue with board or i insert USB on wrong socket or jack(P12).

It seems that your SmartRF05 is broken. Do you buy it from TI Estore? If so, you can ask for replacement from www.ti.com/.../faq-returns-and-refunds.html

Hello,

We have used Windows 7 64-bit and have already downloaded the SmartRF studio online, changed the development kit as well as changed mutliple computers but we are still not able to get the driver to recognize the kit we attach.

See below screen shot of the device driver.

There doesn't seem to be any local support from TI in India and talking to the distributors is simply a wastage of our time. So we sincerely urge you to help with a solution here. May be a remote desktop sessions might be a good idea.

Looking forward to some help in closing this case as soon as possible.

You should disconnect CC Debugger from SmartRF05EB and connect USB type B cable between your desktop and SmartRF05EB.

That is exactly what we have already done. Removed the CC-debugger from between the DK and the PC.

Is there any chance that the OS might be a challenge since we are using a Windows 7 64 bit?

My desktop is Windows 7 64 bit and I don’t see similar issue.

Hi YK,

That's actually good news!

But that raises the question if the SMARTRF05 doesn't get the drivers installed which is why the kit is still not getting recognized what might be the challenge then?

Sometimes USB socket cannot provide enough power so try to disconnect all other USB devices and only have SmartRF05EB to test again.

Hi YK,

We are powering the device ON via an external power supply. Also we have tried to remove all other USB devices and tried. Still no difference.

Any other suggestions?

It is recommended to install SmartRF Studio before you connect the SmartRF05EB to the computer. The installation will include the USB drivers needed for PC applications to communicate with the board. Do you install SmartRF Studio on your Windows?

Try to refer to chapter 10 in www.ti.com/.../swru208b.pdf to reinstall driver.

no, When we press Downloading and debug button it,s Appear "no any device detect please select device".

Sometimes bad USB cable might cause similar issue. Try to replace a new USB cable to test again.

Hi YK,

In summary, the cable is fine, the driver has been installed multiple times on multiple computers, all the PCs that were used were Windows 7 64 Bit, we have tried different kits as well but we are still not able to resolve the matter.

Can you please suggest the next steps?

Hi YK,

All developer machines are Windows 7 and we haven't upgraded to Windows 10 yet. Not sure of your thought-process here.

We can try Linux if that helps with the thought-process.

I don't have problem using CC2530DK on WIndows 7 64 bit or Windows 10 version. I run out of idea why you cannot make it on Windows 7 so I can only suggest you to find a Windows 10 desktop to verify if your CC2530DK is good first. If it still doesn't work, I would suggest you to ask for replacement from www.ti.com/.../faq-returns-and-refunds.html
