Hi,

I am using two IMX6 based custom boards with CC2530. I am using the Z-stack Mesh profile. I am having one board as coordinator with ZNP configuration & enddevice with Generic app. It seems that we need a key press for the sending the "HELLO WORLD" message between the devices. I wanted to know whether we can send packets without any key press. I have tried by giving xHOLD_AUTO_START preprocessor defined symbols of GenericApp but no success...I made some changes following the below link.

If you know the destination short address and endpoint, you can send message directly.

As of now I have made the following changes :

Replace the following code in "ZDO_STATE_CHANGE: case" in GenericApp_ProcessEvent().

On testing with breakpoint set the ZDP_MatchDescReq() inside ZDO_STATE_CHANGE is not getting invoked.

It means that device doesn’t join Zigbee network successfully.

But from the log its showing that the device is added to network and the association request is success....What be the possible issue?

I see your device send match request to coordinator but it doesn't respond match response so the match process doesn't succeed. If you want to send message from end device to coordinator, the short address of coordinator is always 0x0000. You only need to request the correct endpoint of coordinator from your device or if this is a proprietary and close system, you can fix a endpoint for communication.

Why no match request is happening from the coordinator? Is there any changes to be made in coordinator side according to the changes made above in the endevice...

How can I know the clusters currently available in the coordinator? For generic app it seems that the cluster id is 1. In coordinator to which cluster id and endpoint we need to bind? How can we add new cluster id to coordinator having ZNP configuration?

You should add cluster support on ZAP which is on your host MCU.

Put the cluster ID that you want to support it into gateway_config.tlg.

I added the generic app clusterId 1 into the endpoint 3 for ON/OFF cluster in gateway_config.tlg
endpoint { 3, OnOffLightEpDef, OnOffAttrList }
endpointdef OnOffLightEpDef { ha_profile, ha_onofflight, 0, OnOffInputClusters, OnOffOutputClusters }

But still no success....Is this the correct way to add? Is there anything missing?

I added in input cluster also

clusterlist OnOffInputClusters { basic, identify, groups, scenes, onoff, 0x0501, 0x0001 }

still no success...Below attached is the sniffer log for the same. From the logs its seen that Binding is success, from my understanding the generic app will start sending the message once its binded successfully...Then why its not happening?

In your latest sniffer log, match request get success response. However, I don’t see your device sends “Hello world”.

Yes...Binding is also success...Is there anything missing in configuration...Are the clusterId and endpointId proper? How can we check it from sniffer log?

I suggest you to set a breakpoint on device to check the status of sending “Hello World “ message.

I had put prints in GenericApp_SendTheMessage() for Af_DataRequest if afStatus_SUCCESS and AF_DATA_CONFIRM_CMD in GenericApp_ProcessEvent () and both the prints are visible in the terminal I/O view of IAR. From this it means that the message send is success right? I still doubt whether the endpoint and clusterId are proper, how can I confirm it?

I suggest you to set a breakpoint on AF_DataRequest and when it sends message successfully, check if you can see message on sniffer.

As seen above inside GenericApp_ProcessZDOMsgs() the endpoint is 0 on parsing the list...Is it because the binding table is not getting updated properly? How can we check it?

We are trying to communicate between two boards, one as coordinator and the other enddevice. I am having board as coordinator with ZNP configuration firmware & the board as enddevice with GenericApp in enddevice configuration firmware. Is that fine?
Or do we need coordinator board with GenericApp in coordinator configuration firmware.

It should be fine but you have to register the same profile ID and use the same cluster ID on your ZAP-ZNP.

You can use exact the same Profile and Cluster ID used by GenericApp.

Z-Stack Linux Home GW use HA profile and standard ZCL as cluster IDs so I don't think it's easy to modify it to proprietary usage. If you need private Profile and cluster, I suggest you to use www.ti.com/.../TIDC-ZNP-HOST-SW3

I just changed

comm_device_binding_entry_request(&source_addr, &dst_addr, CLUSTER_ID_GENERIC, binding_mode) inside ui_process_bind() user_interface.c, where CLUSTER_ID_GENERIC is 0x0001 and now am getting the following log

Yes, it is decrypted as power configuration since Ubiqua uses ZCL spec to parse the incoming messages.
