CC2531: CC2531 continuity

Hi all, Does anybody know if there is any continuity issue with CC2531 or CC2530? I am planning to design a new device with one of those chips and I would like to know if TI recommends any of them for new designs. Thank you in advance!!

CC253x are TI lagency products for Zigbee so it’s good to use them for Zigbee application. However, if you are looking for latest solution, you can use CC2652 for your design. You can find CC2652 LaunchPad at www.ti.com/.../LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1 and Zigbee SDK at www.ti.com/.../SIMPLELINK-CC26X2-SDK

Thank you Yikai,
I would need a really good reason to change from those microcontrollers. It is an evolution of a device and I have the firmware already developed in them, but I appreciate your suggestion.

CC2652 is much more power saving than CC253x for your reference.

Hi,

What is your application, are you using Z-Stack? If you plan on supporting Zigbee 3.0, you will need to use Z-Stack 3.0.x for CC2530/CC2531. Be aware that there are code size limitations with this platform if you plan on using a Coordinator or Router build, we do have a guide here that can help reclaim some Flash/RAM for your application but there is only so much we can do since Zigbee 3.0 has many mandatory features.

As YK mentioned, our upcoming CC2652 platform is more appropriate for Coordinator/Router designs since it has much more Flash/RAM available out-of-box.

In this case my application it is going to use just 802.15.4 but I really appreciate your suggestions.
