CC2592: Product lifecycle status / product longevity plan

Part Number: CC2592
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2591, , CC2530

Hi,

I am planning on using the CC2592 range extender as replacement for the CC2591(that I was using in of my current designs and that recently got the NRND status). So just wanted to about the lifecycle status and planned availability by TI in years to come for the CC2592 chip.

Any information in this regards would be helpful.

Thanks.

  • CC2592 is latest PA/LNA chip for 2.4G 802.15.4 and BLE application. As I know, it’s life span must be longer than CC2591 and I don’t hear any information that TI would stop its production of CC2592.
  • What is typical number of years for a new and latest product by TI to remain in production and available for users. Is it 10 years , 15 or more?

    Thanks.

    Hur Haider

  • For your reference, CC2530 is in production about 10 years.
  • Hur,

Product life cycle is one of TI's key focus areas. We design out products and our production lines for long life. We are focused on markets that require long product life and we typically keep products in production as long as there are customers buying them.

Specifically for the CC2592, in our view it is still ramping into high volume production as we have more and more customers using it. That device will be in production for a very long time.

If for some reason you need an official statement from TI stating this, then you will need to contact your local sales office and they will help facilitate such a letter.
