following observation are made:

- During ota updated and after successful completion:

communication between end device and coordinator is working fine both too and fro

- when ota fails:

coordinator receives messages from end device

but end device is not receiving msgs from the coordinator.

- if the device is hard reset after ota failure

operation goes back to normal

When end device is not receiving msgs from the coordinator, does it do polling to its parent node?

Here the end device is programmed as a router itself
i have put only 2 devices in the network other then the coordinator

Do you mean you use router not end device in this test? Do you use sniffer to check what happens over the air?

Yes that's exactly what i am doing, and for sniffer i am getting packets from the that node

I cannot decrypt your sniffer log. You have to include association process of device when you do sniffer log so I can decrypt it.

the devices were commissioned successfully there was no problem in association. the problem only starts after OTA fails.
and also one more observation
when i tried to send a read attribute command from coordinator the mtAfDataConfirmCb returned with status 205 i.e. route not found..

complete_sniffer_data.psdi have recreated the situation and also collected the sniffer logs all along...

There is no network key transport in your sniffer log so I still cannot decrypt it. Which Z-Stack version and example do you test OTA?

Z stack core version of router is 2.0.2.6.1
and coordinator is ZNP and Z-stack core version 2.0.2.6.2

Can you specify Z-Stack version? It seems that you are using a very old one.

what should be the poll_rate for the router?
should it be zero? if you can, please explain.

I think I have resolved the problem. there were 2 problems in the existing code.
this part of code was called when ota was aborted in the router

RxOnIdle = TRUE; ----------------------------------------------------------------------->>> Was initially set to false
ZMacSetReq( ZMacRxOnIdle, &RxOnIdle );
//NLME_SetPollRate(DEVICE_POLL_RATE);-------------------------------------->>> poll rate was not needed as it is router so i set it to 0
NLME_SetPollRate(0);

What is your opinion on this solution?
does it have any other consequence on normal functioning ?

If you test OTA on Router, these two settings are nothing to do with router.

That i true, but the case we are considering here is after the ota fails

if RxOnIdle is set to false in following command
ZMacSetReq( ZMacRxOnIdle, &RxOnIdle );
then the the router does not receive messages from coordinator
and
it does receive messages when it is set to true.

this i have learned by testing out and without making any other change but this.

OTA should work with default Z-Stack setting. Just wondering why you want to change those settings.
