Hi,

I am trying to use the existing SampleLight, but modify the SPI code so that it communicates with the msp430fr4133 LCD driver. I am trying to get it to display the same thing as the original SampleLight LCD driver. What code changes would I need to make to get this LCD working?

Those two LCDs have different SPI command for display so I suppose you have to revise SPI command to make it work.

I suppose you have to revise hal_lcd.c.

Also hal_board_cfg.h for max characters/buffer, but the hal_lcd.c constants will be the most important. You will need logic analyzer or oscilloscope traces on the SPI lines to help debug communication/formatting issues.

Where in the code, is the LCD SPI configured to read the rising (low to high) or falling (high to low) edge of the clock signal?

You can change UxGCR register to make it.

This is contained in the pre-built bsp library for the SMARTRF06EBK supporting the lcd_dogm128_6 when you call HalLcdInit. Since the CC2530 does not have a peripheral driver library you will need to follow YK's recommendation.

Thanks. I am also wondering about "P0.0 - LCD_MODE". Which pin is the CC2530 supposed to connect to on an LCD? Also, what is the purpose of LCD_MODE?

Since it SPI interface, you need to connect CS, CLK, MOSI, and MISO.

If I remember correctly, it’s segmented LCD and won’t be able to change font size.

Yes, but can't I increase the font size by increasing the number of segments a character takes?

Ok. So how does font size show up on various LCDs with different screen sizes? How would I adjust this?

I think you're talking about graphic LCDs which are not currently supported by the HAL LCD driver (character LCDs only). You will have to develop your own implementation for this solution.
