CC2531: How to create HEX file from IAR Embedded Workbench of ZNP Source Code from Z-stack 3.0?

Hello,

I'm currently working on CC2531 and I'm trying to create a HEX file of ZNP source code from the Z-Stack 3.0. I'm still facing problem after going through some processes given on this website. After creating HEX file, whenever I flash it to CC2531 USB Dongle, it doesn't work at all.

When I flash already available HEX file (CC2531ZNP-with-SBL.hex) dongle starts working perfectly.

Q: Can anyone tell me how to create a perfect HEX file from ZNP source code available in Z-Stack folder, so after flashing it on CC2531 it actually works like already given HEX file.

Any kind of help will be appreciated

ZNP hex file get ganerated in dev folder.try using hex file from dev folder,it should work.

Hello Dhanraj,

Yes, It work perfectly but I want to generate my own HEX file for some reasons. That's where I'm confused right now.

You can do the modification as per your requirement, then build the project, hex file will generate in dev folder.

Hello Ryan,
I've attached the snapshot of the error I'm facing while building the HEX file for CC2531 (ZNP with SBL).
The link you gave me addresses the linker problem, while I'm getting this error instead.

Any assistance regrading this error would be greatly appreciated

Hello YiKai,

No, I didn't change anything except; Project>Options>Linker>Output>Override Default> changed "CC2531.a51" to "CC2531.hex" while keeping output format to "intel-extended"

Then I clicked "Make" and this error popped up in the end.

I cannot replicate your exact error in IAR EW8051 v10.10.1, if using the Z-Stack 3.0 CC2531 - ZNP-with-SBL build then the only step required is generating the additional output, you shouldn't even need to modify the configuration linker file.
