CC2530: Firmware corrupted in chip

Hi,

Firmware flashed into the board and it was working fine after some days device is not working and not able to debug the board using "debug without downloading"

But chip is detected by CC debugger, and it's working after re-flashing the code again.

I need to know the reason that, in which condition the firmware will get corrupt in the chip. What will be the root cause for this issue.

Hi Arun,

Please state the software stack version you are using. Does this happen with a TI-provided example or custom code? Does your application perform any flash writes that could be causing the issue? What are your stack and heap sizes? And is the chip located in a hostile environment (temperature, humidity, radiation, etc)? processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Zigbee_Known_Issues_and_Proposed_Fixes

Hi Ryan,

I am using ZStack_home_1.2.2a stack. This corruption occurs in my custom code only.

same code is flashed in 250 switches. Only 2 switches got corrupted.

Stack and heap sizes are given below.

Still we couldn't find the root cause for this.

Hello Arun,

Are these routing or end devices? You might be experiencing a stack overflow or heap errors, I recommend increasing the XDATA stack to 0x400 and setting MAXMEMHEAP=2800 in the Preprocessor Defined Symbols. You should further compare your code against the SampleSwitch code to find what difference could cause the issue.

Despite the messages asking for that thread to no be closed, TI Employees closed it anyway. They do as they please without any feedback to us users.

Since they closed your topic, do you have any new insights about this problem?

This is not new. Seem to be an internal flash or DMA issue but TI doesn't recognizes it as a hardware problem. They just say it will be analyzed since 2016 and no answers until now.
