Hello everyone,

I want to use more than one 6lowpan border router to manage and aggregate several WSNs. I have a PC, the PC needs to be able to access each node of WSN through ethernet , can 6lbr be applied to this occasion, I didn't find any useful information about multiple 6lbr .Can anyone provide relevant information and example?

Hi Wxy,

If I understand you correctly, you have multiple WSN connected to the same network as your PC, and each WSN has one single 6lbr border router? Or, does each WSN have multiple 6lbr border routers?

Sorry for late reply. Yes, I have multiple WSN and each WSN has one single 6lowpan border router. Can I apply 6lbr to this situation？and if there are overlaps between WSNs, can 6lbr and WSN work properly?Looking forward to your reply.

You can absolutely use 6lbr for this.

But, could you elaborate what you mean by "overlaps between WSNs"?

Here the word 'overlaps' means areas which some nodes may be locate in the common regions of several WSNs. My question was I don't know how a node select which network to join on the above occasion. if i am not wrong, i can use different panid and maybe different channel to instruct a node to join the specified network which has the same panid and channel. thanks again.

Having multiple border routers for a single WSN is in theory OK. However, I've experienced most border router implementations usually don't support multiple border routers very well.

If you want to separate the WSNs from each other, simply having a unique PAN ID for each WSN is sufficient. I would also recommend letting each WSN have a unique WSN prefix as well, simplifying routing between each WSN.
