CC2531: Wireless Bootloader Capabilities?

Part Number: CC2531
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: Z-STACK

Hi team,

I was wondering if we had any collateral regarding the bootloader configurations for the CC2531. More specifically, looking for a version that would allow the device to be wirelessly programmed.

I took a look on another E2E post and the wiki, but was unable to find anything related to wireless configurations:

http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/CC253x_Serial_Boot_Loader

https://e2e.ti.com/support/wireless_connectivity/zigbee_6lowpan_802-15-4_mac/f/158/t/542780?CC2531-Bootloader

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

  • Hi Arthur,

If you are using Z-STACK then you should read through the Z-Stack OTA Upgrade User's Guide (SWRA353). An initial firmware update must be flashed to the device as the correct bootloader is not pre-programmed, but afterwards you will be able to use the Zigbee OTA cluster to update the firmware wirelessly.

    Regards,
