CC2538: Queries on ZigBee3.0 and ZigBee Smart Energy Profiles (ZSE)

Hello,

I am new to TI chip sets. I was looking into CC2538 and Z-Stack from below link

Below are my queries.

1) Z-Stack-3.0.1 is fully compliant with ZigBee 3.0. In this case, whether Z-Stack-3.0.1 supports ZSE (ZigBee Smart Energy) profile.

2) SWRS096D/CC2538 documents mentions support of Smart Grid. Whether CC2538 supports ZSE profile. If supports, then what is the Z-Stack version.

3) To my understanding ZigBee 3.0 does not support ZSE profiles. Correct me if I am wrong.

Please let me know your inputs.

1. No, Z-Stack-3.0.1 doesn't support ZSE (ZigBee Smart Energy) profile.
2. TI had provided CC2538 Z-Stack for Smart Energy but it is removed to TI web site long time ago.
3. That's correct.

1) Whether TI has customized stack on ZigBee 3.0 with ZSE support.
2) Whether we can get Z-Stack with Smart Energy profile.

Hello Chen,

Last query related to this.

1) Since ZigBee 3.0 does not support ZSE, Z-Stack3.0.1 does not support ZSE. But still CC2538 has ZSE on older versions. These are archived. Please correct me if I am wrong.

2) On CC2538, whether ZigBee Smart Energy profile is supported only in ZigBee Pro. In SWRU319C user guide, it is mentioned as ZSE supported in CC2538 / ZigBee Pro. If yes, please share the stack version.

1. Yes.
2. I remember it's ZStack_Energy_110 but there is nowhere to download it from TI web side. I have told you to contact TI for help.

Vishnu,

Z-Stack 3.0.x does not and will never include ZSE support. TI's Smart Energy solution was deprecated in 2013, which is when SWRU319 was updated and explains why it has old information. I will work with the Technical Documents team to see if this document can be edited to remove confusion. We are not willing to share the archived stack but you can contact DSR for their ZBOSS SE SDK solution using the CC2652R/CC1352P: http://www.dsr-zboss.com
