Hello, I want to get rssi or lqi of a ZED or ZR's parent in order to know how far I can place a device from another and obtain suitable placement of devices in a network. How can I measure this in device itself or from coordinator and z-stack GW?

You can use ZDP_IEEEAddrReq to do this.

I used this but it returns zero! What value I should set to the startIndex? Also how can I find the short Address of a device's parent?

Sorry, I think you send ZDP_IEEEAddrReq to routers and get ZDP_IEEEAddrRsp to know the association table on routers to know who is the parent node of a specific end device.

I first wanted to get lqi from asoc. table of coordinator or routers, But when I saw association table of a router that a ZED was connected to it, it was empty!

If ZED was connected to the router, it might not show on association table. It must be currently connecting and it would show on association table of end device’s parent node.

It is connected but doesn't exist in the Assoc. table of its parent.
I send ZDP_MGMT_LQI_REQUEST() from a ZED to its parent and it seems its parent responses to coordinator(I see it in packet sniffer) but how can I get this response?!
Also I used a Z-stack GW command named GET_NEIGHBOR_TABLE_REQ and I sent this command to a router and it returns its neighbor specification but it seems it doesn't work for ZEDs !

Actually I want to find the suitable placement of nodes in my network and know how far I can place a ZED or ZR from another ZR or ZC (its parent).So I want to measure lqi of a device's parent.

If you mean to know the LQI/RSSI from end device’s parent node, you can get LQI/RSSI from any AF incoming message of end device.
