Hi,

I have a few problems understanding the cluster binding process on the HA Z-Stack 1.2.2.a.

Are binding requests to my ED automatically handled by the stack or do I need to implement something in my application?

Do I need to set ACCESS_REPORTABLE for every attribute?

Do I need to manually report the binded attributes or is there an API to configure this?

Hi Philipp,

The finding/binding process is handled automatically by the EZ-Mode process of HA 1.2.2a for supported clusters. Attributes do not have to be ACCESS_REPORTABLE to report their value, but only the attribute that you care to report would need to be set. This entire process was improved by the BDB specification for Zigbee 3.0. Check the ZCL_EZMODE and ZCL_REPORT definitions of the SampleTemperatureSensor example for further information.

In Z-Stack Home 1.2.2.a, I suggest you can refer to SampleLight and SampleSwitch. In zclSampleLight_HandleKeys and zclSampleSwitch_HandleKeys, they would show you how to use EZ-Mode for finding/binding if you define ZCL_EZMODE or how to use ZDP_EndDeviceBindReq to do binding if you don't define ZCL_EZMODE.

I need to activate binding for manufacturer specific clusters. Is there a way to do this with this Stack version and how is the stack reacting to a incoming bind request?

Although developed for the SimpleLink SDK, you can reference the following Zigbee Fundamentals SLA: dev.ti.com/.../zigbee_03_fundamentals.html

The Z-Stack API Guide (simplelink\zstack_home_1_02_02a_44539\Documents\API\zstack_tirtos_api) provides instructions on the various bind requests and response callbacks.

Thanks for the Manual. Correct me if I'm wrong but the Zstackapi_ZdoBindReq is is when I want to establish a bind from my End-Device. But how do I register a incoming bind request from a Router, update the binding table and configure attribute reporting. Is there a Event for this or is this done by the stack?

Hi Philipp,

There is no event for this as it is done by the stack of the destination device, however the source device can receive a zstackmsg_CmdIDs_ZDO_BIND_RSP callback to evaluate whether the zstsck_ZdpStatus is returned as zstack_ZdpStatus_SUCCESS or not.

Hi Ryan,

does this mean that Attribute Reporting Configuration and the Reporting on value change is done by the Stack? Is this activated by the ZCL_REPORT flag?

Attribute Reporting Configuration and the Reporting on value change is not done by the Stack. It's implemented in CC2630 Z-Stack Home 1.2.2a application. You can refer to ZCL_REPORT defined related implementation in sensortag example.
