CC2652R: Maximum usable packet error rate

Part Number: CC2652R
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2530

Hi TI Team,

What is the maximum usable packet error rate for for simple send-acknowledge application which is not always active  (by demand tx-rx only).

For 100 packets sent/receive  between CC2530 dev kit and our cc2652 device are getting these results:

2480MHz

Distance (m)                                            1  10 20 30 40 12 (2 rooms) 15 (2 rooms and 1 wall)

"Main Board as a Receiver (dBm)" -49 -65 -79 -72 -73 -82           -91

Error %                                                   1% 1% 1% 3% 7% 3%                  6%

"Main Board as a Transmitter (dBm)" -54 -74 -82 -75 -88 -86             -96

Error %                                                    1%  4%  14% 8%  25%  7%                 10%

Maximum usable packet error rate?

Walter

  • Hi Walter,

This is really up to your application to decide. I mean how many retries does your application accept before either you are below your required throughput requirement, or the delay is noticeable by the user.
